The three suspects were arrested yesterday by the police at Bungoma town as they were trying to escape with stolen items. This occurred as the bungoma OCPD was launching investigation that led to the identification of other stolen items.

The suspects whose names were said to be Oliver Lundu, Dennis Okello and Dennis Sipachi did have any identity cards for identification. It was also learnt that they were giving different names each time different police officers were inquiring them. This made it difficult for the police to identify their true names but investigations are still going on about the same.

Confirming the incident, Bungoma police OCPD Amos Cheboi said that the police officers started the investigation after being informed of ten gangsters who stole valuable items from the Bungoma residents saying that it has led to the identification of stolen material worthy thousands of shillings.

The items recovered include seven TV sets, two DVDS, electrical wire and domestic salt. The police are still caring out more investigation to recover other stolen items.

The OCPD has called upon all Kenyans to co-operate with the police officers by reporting any cases of insecurity for serious action to be taken against the suspects.

He also asked the land lords to co-operate by ensuring that they clearly identify their tenants before allowing them to rent houses saying that it will help reduce theft cases.
