Transport in Kimilili Town of Bungoma County was Friday morning paralyzed for some hours after students of Kamusinde secondary school went on a rampage blocking the road, demonstrating against what they alleged as extreme harassment by their deputy principal Francis Wekesa.

 Carrying placards and while singing traditional Bukusu circumcision songs the angry students expressed their discomfort with the deputy’s leadership which they claimed to have turned the school into a prison.

''He administers corporal punishment on us and suspends our fellow students aimlessly without proper investigations on matters affecting them'' lamented one of the students.

They further expressed their discomfort in how the teacher had imposed a rule that each student should own a plastic plate for taking their meals of which should be bought from a specific shop in Kimilili town.

 They further disclosed that the deputy would not give them ample time during their prayer sessions in school an issue they linked to his own religious back ground.

 However, the students were addressed by Kimilili District Officer Joseph Lewa who is also the chairman of the education board in the district. Lewa called upon the students to resume classes as he promised to seek for a lasting solution to their problems.
