Addressing a public baraza in Mautuma Location Mr. Ajwang introduced an evening curfew requiring residents not to leave their homes or houses after 10.00pm.
Boda boda operators were also urged to make sure that they closed business by 9.00 pm every evening.
Responding to some of the security issues raised by members of the public during the baraza, the official accused boda boda operators of colluding with thugs by providing transportation services, thus enabling the thugs to succeed in accomplishing their terror missions.
He warned that any boda boda who will be found operating after 9.00pm will be arrested and charged.
Mr. Ajwang also blamed most entertainment joints for being havens where criminals plan before executing their activities at night and therefore appealed to video house and bar owners to observe the operating time.
Earlier on residents of Marakusi sub location had claimed that most criminals were finding it easy to penetrate and carry out their activities ranging from theft to murder due to the presence of several video kiosks at Makutano market and availability of many motorbike operators in the area at the late hours of the night.
The senior District Officer was accompanied by, Lugari District Officer Mr.Lawrence Ngare and several chiefs and their assistants.
