Naivasha MP John Mututho has urged Busia County residents to refrain from the consumption of local brews and instead embrace the culture of responsible drinking.
Speaking in Busia town, Mututho said the chemicals used to make the brews were dangerous and contributed to the dropping of fertility rate which may lead to impotence.
“The formalin put in these local brews is quite dangerous and can contribute to impotence posing a serious threat to the future generation,” he said.
The Naivasha legislator emphasized that responsible consumption of alcohol will help encourage responsibility in men, curbing complaints of failed matrimonial responsibilities from their wives.
“Most important we must consider the quality of alcohol we consume for health’s sake, and the drinking hours to avoid wasting our lives,” he said.
He challenged proprietors of bars and restaurants in the area to maintain the opening and closing hours of their businesses in a bid to regulate the consumption of alcoholic drinks.
“As owners of bars we should take control by adhering to the alcoholic regulations in place to avoid running into problems with the law,” said Mututho.
About the boda boda operators, he said that motor bike riders in the County should embrace a close working relationship to ensure the escalating cases of motorbike theft are curbed.
“We must ensure we are careful with the passengers we carry during our working hours especially at night to avoid the attacks which have been witnessed in the past few weeks in this area”, he said.
Mututho also encouraged residents to immediately report suspected criminals to the security agencies.
