A Bungoma court has on Wednesday sentenced a seventeen years old boy to twenty years prison term after he pleaded guilty of defiling an eleven years old school girl.

According to the prosecution, on 20^th June 2012, Isaiah Wamukota Wafula from chwele area at around 5.30p.m accosted the eleven years old girl who was on her way home from school.

The accused who is not a stranger to the young girl carried her to a maize plantation and threatened to kill her if she screamed before defiling and abandoning her.

On reaching home, the girl’s mother noticed that she was walking in pain, oozing blood and covered with mud. This prompted her to rush her daughter to the hospital after reporting the matter to the police in the area.

In his mitigation, the accused apologized to the court claiming that he was an orphan.

The sentence was passed by the senior resident magistrate peter Areri, and the accused given 14 days to appeal.

Meanwhile, Fredrick Onyango Odera and Peter Makokha Juma were arraigned in the same court of robbery with violence.

The two were accused that on 22^nd this month at around 8.00pm within Bungoma Township  area with others still at large while armed with a gun and a pistol raided a petrol station belonging to Mr.caleb Lusuma and robed KSH 7,365 in cash and five liters of engine oil worth KSH12, 165.

They were also accused that on the same day they attacked and robbed in a bar belonging to Hellen Nambuya and stole KSH 9,350 in cash plus beer products worth ksh 13,490, then broke into a shop belonging to Jacqueline Mulongo in Bungoma town and also stole KSH 3,000

Before the senior resident magistrate peter Areri, the accused denied all the three charges before them and were released on a one million bond with a surerity of the same amount.

The case is set for hearing on 31^st august this year.
