As the Rift Valley provincial secondary schools term two ball games enter the third and final day in Kapenguria in West Pokot county, two teams from North Rift region have qualified for the games soccer finals to be held on Saturday at Chewoyet High School.

St Anthony, the Rift Valley provincial defending champions secured themselves a place in the finals after beating Laiser Hill of Kajiado county 2-1 in the semi final held at Chewoyet high school.

The teams drew 1-1 in normal time that saw St Anthony take the day after scoring the winning goal in the extra time of second half.

Kapenguria who were West Pokot county champions reached the finals after thrashing Rohi of Nakuru county 2-0 in another semi final held in another field of Chewoyet high school.

The two finalists who come from neighboring counties of Trans Nzoia and West Pokot are expected to offer a thrilling final that will have both teams enjoy a more or less home ground advantage bearing in mind that despite St Anthony coming from Kitale, its supporters can still manage to attend the final in large numbers as compared to the supporters of Kapenguria.

St Anthony can also peck their support from the culture of the Luhya community who are the dominant in Trans Nzoia County and are known to be lovers of soccer more than the Pokots who are more do not cherish football more than athletics that has been embraced by many of their sons and daughters at higher levels.

The regular experience of St Anthony at provincial, national and East African regional schools competitions might also be an added advantage to the Solidarity of the Boys as they are famously known as compared to their opponents.

Earlier in the day during the semi finals St Anthony had beaten Kipchimchim 1-0, Kapenguria thrashed Enosaen 2-0, Laiser Hill hit Laikipia 3-0 as Rohi beat Kabarnet 3-1.

In girls soccer Tartar girls from West Pokot have qualified for the final against Bishop Wambari after the two schools won their semi final matches.

In the semis Tartar had humiliated Itigo with a 5-2 win while Bishop Wambari beat Chepsituywet1-0 to secure chances to play in the final to kick off Saturday at 9 A.M.

In volleyball boys Cheptil of Nandi will battle it out with Ziwani of Laikipia in the final as Weaver Bird from Trans Nzoia meet Cheptil girls in the volleyball girls final. Cheptil boys and girls came in the tournament as provincial defending champions and have both managed to reach the finals.

All final matches of soccer and volleyball will be held at the Chewoyet high school grounds starting from 9A.M on Saturday.
