Preparations to host Kenya Inter Municipality Sports and Cultural activities (KIMSCA) games in Kakamega town early next month are in top gear with Bukhungu Stadium being reinforced with a concrete perimeter wall for the first time.
The games will commence on 11th to 18th August
Bukhungu Stadium which will be the main venue for hosting the games that will also be held in nearby schools, Contractors were busy building the wall. The barbed wire and old iron sheets that had been around the stadium are being pulled down and replaced with stone wall.

Kakamega Municipal Council has also put a new small stand opposite to the main stand. A coach the council has hired to lead training of its team Mr. William Chapi said the training was going on well to get a strong team to face other teams that will be coming for the games.
He said they were banking on short races in athletics to get first prizes and football. The council's football team and short race runners were training at the time reporters visited the stadium. The Kakamega will also participate in ajua and tug of war. Switch to Our Mobile Site |
