FKF Teso District League sponsored by Amagoro CDF kicked off at the weekend with Bocar Juniors beating Kamuriai 2-1 in the opening match at Malaba Primary School Grounds.
Kamuriai stunned Bocar with a 25th minute goal well executed by Moses Ijakaa from a Joab Ekisa corner kick.
Juniors suffered another setback five minutes later when outside right Baggio Emodoi was sent off by referee, Maurice Dickens Papai for a second bookable offence.
Undeterred by the setbacks, Boca leveled terms in the 50th minute when Benard Omonya's 30 metres volley beat goalkeeper, Martin Etiengit all the way.
Super sub, Richard Dunkoch who replaced Joseph Omari scored the winner goal in the 57th minute with a 30m free kick.
In attendance were FKF North Western Branch chairman, Moses Kubai, Secretary Ben Mamai, CDF Secretary, Evans Enaga and District Youth Affairs and Sports officers, Eliud Ondara and Emmanuel Oigo.
Leonard Okapesi who represented CDF patron Sospeter Ojaamong at the formal launch later presented 48 teams taking part in the event with a ball each.
Elsewhere in Mumias District, the Salama Cup soccer men ball games sponsored by Salama Organization kicked off at Bumini Secondary School over the weekend with various teams from the area recording good results.
Mung’ang’a AFC recorded a win of 1-0 against their opponents who were the host Bumini FC, the solely goal of Munga’ng’a was scored by overlapping defender Vincent Wanzala a.k.a Matianyi as nicknamed by the fans.
In another thrilling match at the same venue Isongo FC grilled down Malaha FC three goals to zero.
The games attracted large number of fans from all walks of life not only from Mumias District but the entire Kakamega County.
The main aim of the Salama Cup is to nurture talent amongst the youth through participating in co-curriculum activities such as football, basketball and volleyball.
