The Agricultural society of Kenya annual show commenced Thursday at the Kakamega Show Ground in Western Kenya.

The theme this year is ‘‘To Improve our Technology through Industry and Agriculture.’’

Several organizations have come forward asking all Kenyans, especially the residents of Western Province to come out in large numbers and participate in the activities.

The show, which recorded a low turn out last year, is expected to have a larger turn out of both people  and participants due to the various activities that have been Incorporated in the event.

The show, aims at educating and informing the public concerning various agricultural activities and businesses around the country and how technology has been an upper hand in propagating most of the various progresses in the agricultural sector in general.

Amongst the participants, West FM in collaboration with Nzoia Sugar Company  have asked its listeners to visit their stands at the Show Ground and learn more about the services and products that they offer to the society.

The preparations, which started almost a week ago at the showground in Kakamega, were completed yesterday to pave way for its official opening to the public.

The public expectation is that the gate charges would  be reduced as compared to last years', whereby, the children were being charged Ksh 100 while the adults had to part with Ksh 150.

They claim the reduction will enable some of them who are not able to afford the money to also participate in the event.
