Co-wife poisons 6 family members after a feud

A family of six members from Kasing village of Teso North District has been admitted at Teso District Hospital Kocholya   after they consumed poisoned food.

It is alleged that the six including a father in-law, husband, wife and three children started vomiting and having diarrhea few hours after they had taken their evening meal of Ugali and vegetables.

They six were saved by neighbors who rushed them to Angurai health centers where they were given first aid before being referred to Kocholya Hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment and in stable condition.

Confirming the incident, the area Chief Zachary Olekete condemned the incident revealing that the co-wife was confirmed to have committed the act a day after she had quarreled with the husband before prompting her to abandon her home to unknown place.

Teso police are currently hunting down the suspect who vanished on the material day.
