As the UDFP Presidential candidate Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi took his political campaign in Kisii County, his supporters pitched tents in Vihiga County to drum support for him.

Addressing UDF supporters in Luanda town, Ikolomani legislator Bonny Khalwale said that the next presidential elections is going to be only between the Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi and called upon other presidential hopefuls to join  Mudavadi.

“The coming presidential election is going to be between two men; Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi,” said Khalwale.

“I want to tell honorable Oparanya, Otuoma, the time is now come and back Mudavadi,” he added.

In a bid to martial support for Mudavadi, Khalwale said a door to door campaign will be launched in the days to come so as to popularize Mudavadi.

“ We are going to move in all the homes of the Luhya nation; we will go to all the houses, no matter what they are, whether permanent, semi-permanent or structures to ask for votes,” He uttered.

About the issue of party nomination, Khalwale assured UDF members that nobody was going to be short changed but only those who go through the nominations successful will be awarded certificates.

Commenting on the issue of IDs and voters card, Khalwale called upon the government to write an official letter directing the ministry of Immigration to waiver the sh.300 registration fee.

“ I want to challenge president Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga before parliament resumes sessions next week to write an official letter directing honorable Otieno Kajwang’ to waiver the Sh.300 registration fee,” added Khalwale.

The Ikolomani MP also appealed to the government to consider salary increments for teachers and asked teachers not to down their tools as he is going to take their burden upon himself and ensure they get want they are demanding from the government.

Also present in the event was the Luanda constituency UDF party boss Khalid Njiraini who urged voters to elect Mudavadi since he is more politically experienced that his opponents and can best represent the interests of common Mwananchi. On his part former Emuhaya MP Sande Mukuna regretted the low voter turn-out in most elections in the region a factor he attributed to lack of registration by the locals. He appealed to them to register and participate fully in the coming general elections.

In Kisii County, Mudavadi urged Kenyans to be agents of peace and should take the responsibility of ensuring each and everyone lives in harmony.

“Election is about allowing people to make their choice of leaders without intimidation. Kenyans have that right to choose their leader but they themselves must be agents of peace to avoid violence similar to that of 2007. Never shall we allow bloodshed. We must guard against what happened in 2007″, he told a crowd at Etago centre.
