The newly deployed Western Provincial Police Commissioner Alfred Kambona Ombaba has guaranteed western residents of their security as the Nation is experiencing massive threats and attacks from Al Shaabab terror group.

Addressing residents at the Malaba border during a familiarization tour, Ombaba revealed his officers are on the ground collaborating with the public to put to end crime in the province.

The commissioner appealed to the residents to embrace joint efforts with the police officers expressing fear that criminals usually disguise amongst them to attack congregations and social gatherings,   urging them to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious character to police station and relevant authorities.

“My office operates on a 24 hours basis and am calling upon the public to report any person they suspect is a security threat   and my officers are going to treat the person as confidential source .Let us work together, police officers should respect and treat civilians well and the public should not hesitate to give out vital information to the officers,” explained the PPO

He said that police officers will guard churches and mosques, asking them not to fear instead to involve themselves in nation building activities saying that his squad is on high alert especially at the Kenyan borders.

He also said that he has laid down strategy on how to curb insecurity cases in the province where he said he has covered Busia, Budalangi and currently in Teso where he was to visit Kotur, Moding, Adungos and Angurai.
