Police in Kimilili Town of Bungoma County have recovered household property of unknown value believed to have been stolen from residents of the town.

Speaking to the press, Kimilili Officer Commanding Police Station (OCS) Maurice Oyolo said they acted on a tip-off from the public and acted accordingly and arrested two suspects who had hidden the stolen property in a nearby house.

“These two are part of the notorious gang that has been terrorizing the people of this town for some time now, they are helping us to locate their other accomplices who have been involved in robbery incidents for some time” said Oyolo.

He disclosed that one of the suspects identified as Isaac Sichangi who is only nineteen years of age was arraigned in court and charged for robbery with violence and called upon residents of Kimilili who have recently lost their property to visit the police station to identify property.

Oyolo added that the suspect’s mother has also been implicated in the syndicate and is helping the police in providing vital information needed to pursue the other members of the gang.

However, he cautioned members of the public against taking law in their own hands and forward suspects linked to theft incidents to the police as it is the only institution mandated to maintain law and order in the society.
