Drama unfolded Saturday evening in Adungosi Centre of Teso South District, when a charged mob who had protested over the shooting of a guard allegedly by area OCS, ambushed and frog matched two officers over extortion.

The two were nabbed hiding in a maize plantation probably after they were tipped off by their colleagues and taken to Western PPO Alfred Ombaba who had just arrived to launch inquiries over the shooting incident.

The rowdy mob which encompassed Bodaboda Operators descended upon the two, a constable   and a corporal with kicks and blows rendering them helpless only clinching to their guns.

The mob lamented over rampant cases of extortion by traffic officers operating along the Malaba-Busia road saying that they normally extort 50 shillings from motorcyclist.

Administration Police officers who had accompanied Teso South Dc Dennis Omosaa watched the incident in disbelief as the two were taken before the PPO.

The PPO condemned the incident saying that there would be mass killing if the two officers could have used the guns for self defense.

He however, promised to take stern action against the officers immediately the investigations are complete. His words relieved the crowd that decided to calm down asking him to sack the two officers.
